Wow! That was a busy set of shows! Sorry the background stamps sold out so quickly. Back at it today - catching up with website orders and prepping for my shows next week. Please be patient with the website orders - there are quite alot to get through and I may not manage them all today. It may take me till the weekend to catch up. I have ordered some more of the stamps that I've sold out of but I may not get them till early next week.
Here's today's card -
For the background, I used a piece of Heat Emboss Acetate. I added some CS Clear Varnish Lacquer. I sprinkled Pewter CS Pixie Powder over and spread it around using my fingers (you can do this with a brush but make sure you wash your brush immediately). I then sprinkled some Peacock Green CS Pixie Powder over and added some Sparkle Star CS Diamond Frost. I scrunched a piece of White Tissue Paper up, opened it out and added it to my background, tapping it down carefully with a piece of Kitchen Roll. I put it aside to dry (approx an hour - it dries quicker than the Caught in Crystal Technique as you have spread the lacquer out). Do not remove the tissue paper - it's there to add texture.
Once dry, I dusted over the front of the acetate with an Anti Static Bag and stamped one of the flower heads from the Justrite Floral Silhouettes One Stamp Set several times using Clear Perfect Medium, added Black Mirage CS Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set.
I made a frame out of Steel Pearl Card using Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Rectangles and Double Pierced Rectangles Set B. I added it to my background using 3D Foam Tape and trimmed away the excess background carefully using scissors.
I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Circle of Friends Stamp Set onto Steel Pearl Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Black Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using a die from the Justrite A2 Butterfly Garden Die Set.
I spritzed a piece of Watercolour Card with water and added the same 2 Pixie Powders. Once dry, I cut butterfly circle from the same die set out of it.
I stamped the outline poppy stamp from the Justrite Multi-Step Poppies Stamp Set onto Steel Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Black Detail Powder - I stamped 1 flower twice and another flower once. I cut them out using scissors.
I cut a pair of leaves from my Pixie'd Watercolour Card using Sue Wilson's Maidenhair Fern Die Set.
I completed the card by matting onto Coconut White Card and then Steel Pearl Card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Julia.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge green fan but this is lovely, I might be changing my mind, lol. The background is so vibrant and I think the simpler flowers contrast so well. Thanks for sharing.
I didn't manage to see any of your shows but I will be watching on catchup, I hope you enjoyed them.
Best wishes
Yesterday and today - 2 great background ideas in great colour combos. I still have yellow alcohol ink on my thumb nail from my Saturday class and blue intense cosmic shimmer under a middle finger nail from your Sunday class. Found the alcohol hand rub at work has helped with the thumb nail, any ideas for the cosmic shimmer intense ink.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, A stunning card, great colour combo.
ReplyDeleteLots of love from Patricia xx
Lovely card and great colours. Glad you put the instructions here as I had forgotten how to do it from our workshop last month. Can now write them up on my 'craft book'. Still catching up with the shows but have enjoyed what I have see so far as always.
