Happy Birthday

Hi Bloggers.

An appropriate sentiment on today's card as many of you will know that it's my dear friend Sue Wilson's birthday today. I know many of you visit her blog, but if you haven't today, please be sure to pop by to say Happy Birthday. You can find her blog here.

I'm in Kettering today at Creative Expressions HQ running a workshop this afternoon. Maybe I'll see some of you there?

Here's today's card -

For the outer background, I ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Asian Weave Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Stonewashed Adirondack Dye Ink.

I inked the Justrite Quilted Circles Background with Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky and Broken China Distress Markers. I misted with a little water and stamped.

I stamped the frames and the sentiment from the Justrite Applique Flowers & Vintage Sentiment Tags Clear Stamp Set using Cobalt Archival and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I cut out using Justrite Vintage Tag Dies and Justrite Vintage Sentiment Tag Dies. I inked through the dies with Stonewashed Dye Ink.

I inked up one of the flowers in the Applique Flowers stamp set using some of the Distress Markers I used before. I stamped it twice and cut out using scissors. I cut just the centre out on one of them. I stacked them up using 3d Foam and added a White Crystal Sparkler. I cut 2 sets of leaves out of Cobalt Card using Sue's Faux Quilled Leaves Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Cobalt around the edges.

Don't forget to leave a comment on Monday's post to go into the draw for the blog candy.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  12. What a beautiful card-blue is always a winner for me. I like the way you add the quilled leaves in matching colours-must try that rather than keeping to white.

  28. Hi Julia,
What a gorgeous card again today! I love the colours too! The quilted circles background stamp looks super - the colour detail is gorgeous. Would not have thought have doing the leaves in cobalt blue either but they look stunning. I'm not a fan of that flower stamp but I like it better cut out! All in all it gets my vote.
Have wished Sue a Happy Birthday too. Your birthdays aren't that far apart.
Enjoy your day at HQ. Wish I was nearer!
    Safe travel,
    Love Myra
