Hi Bloggers.
Here's today's card -
For the background, I used a piece of Coconut White Card. I'm going to tell you how I would make the background now rather than what I actually did. Since John Lockwood helped me suss out the GC plates in the Platinum, this is the easiest way. I cut one of the insert dies from the Spellbinders Postage Stamp Edgeabilities Dies set towards the right hand side. I left the die in place and added the largest die from the Spellbinders Gold Rectangles One Die Set. I ran this through the emboss sandwich. I left both dies in place and inked all over with Phill Martin Frosty Sky Colour Cloud using a Smoothie.
I cut a rectangle out of Deep Blue Card using Spellbinders 5 x 7 Matting Basics B. I used the other insert die from the Postage Stamp Edgeabilities Die Set to cut and emboss a border down both sides of the rectangular die cut.
I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Fabulous Sentiments Clear Stamp Set using Cobalt Archival. I cut it out using the middle die in the Spellbinders 5 x 7 Reflective Moment Die Set and inked through the die with Frosty Sky Colour Cloud.
I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Bluebird Satin Ribbon. I cut a little motif out of Coconut White Card using Spellbinders Eyelet Pendants and inked through the die with Frosty Sky Colour Cloud. I added a little Blue Dazzler.
I assembled the card as shown adding a couple of White Pearl Corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.
Just to clarify, when I post cards made up from demo bits and I say that I've used the Grand Calibur for some bits and I've used the Platinum for other bits - it's not because one machine can't do some of the work, I've mainly used the Calibur when out and about so the demo bits are made with that and I'm mainly using the Platinum at home to complete the cards as that's the machine that's on my desk at the moment.
I've had a few people ask about tickets for the demo andsale day that I'm doing with John Lockwood on January 9th. It isn't a ticketed event, it's free to attend. Just turn up any time after 10am to join in the fun. (fun ends at 4pm by the way!) I'm afraid I can't take card payments but happy to accept cash, cheques and you can pay me via paypal if you have the app on your phone or tablet. Let's just hope it doesn't snow!
All for now.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.
