Thanks

Hi Bloggers.

I was supposed to have been doing a workshop at Creative Expressions today but I have had to re-schedule it to Wednesday 26th August, sorry about that! All attendees have been notified and transferred to the new date or refunded.

Here's today's card -

I have to say this card looks much better 'in the flesh'. Quite often the case, I think.

Anyway, I started by cutting Sue Wilson's Classic Weaving Die out of 2 of the patterned papers from Phill Martin's Chic Floral 8 x 8 Paper Pad. I wove the 2 pieces together as shown on Sue's video here but did not use the Striped Weaving Die on this one.

I made a frame out of Coconut White Card and the plain side of another of the Chic Floral Papers ( I gutted of the of the sheets so I could use the outside of the piece as a mat) using Sue's Ornate Pierced Squares Noble Die Set. I added to the woven background using 3d Foam Tape and trimmed away the excess.

I cut the Couture Creations Script : Thanks Die out of some remaining paper that I had cut the weaving die from. I also cut one of Sue's Pierced Flags Dies from the same and also another die from the same set out of Coconut White Card.

I stamped 2 of the stamps from the Shaded Peony Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Perfect Medium and embossed with Phill Martin Chic Pumpkin Embossing Powder. I repeated this process once more so that I had 2 flowers of 2 sizes. I made a template by cutting the corresponding 2 dies from Sue's Perfect Peony Complete Petals Die Set out of Coconut White Card. I put the flowers aside to use another time and kept the waste. I placed the waste over the stamped flower so that it was perfectly lined up, inserted the dies, secured with tape across the die, template and card that the flower was stamped on and ran it through the Grand Calibur. I repeated this for all the flowers. I shaped them a little using a Paper Shaping Tool and a Moulding Mat, stacked them up, offsetting them a little and added a 5mm White Pearl.

I tied a bow out of Blue White American Seam Binding and another bow out of Pastel Bakers Twine.

I assembled the card as shown adding some 8mm White Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

    another super creation today.
Wonderful colour choice, and lovely design.
Don't you just hate it when a creation looks so much better in the flesh than on your blog, as you feel that people are missing a real treat.
