Graduation Day!

Hi Bloggers.

It's a special day today as my daughter, Kathryn, is graduating with at 2:1 Honours Degree in Marine Biology from Portsmouth University. It goes without saying that I'm very proud of her.

I've been so busy that I completely forgot to make Kathryn a card so I've cheated and while Sue & I were at the Doncaster Summer Crafting Show on Sunday, I got a kit from The Hobby House. I am a sucker for cute images and I thought the one on this card was perfect. I didn't manage to find a Graduation Stamp so Congratulations will have to do.

My day on Monday went so pear shaped that I have simply followed the card example on the kit. I have used Spellbinders 6 x 6 Matting Basics A & B, Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A & B and Sue's Pierced Flags to cut out the layers. I added some Creative Expressions 5mm Black Pearls, everything else was in the kit.

    I too love the Hobby House cards and have bought the kits in the past for my 2 granddaughters (age 9 & 11) they love them because everything they need is in the pack, with details of how to put them together.
    Your card is the result of lovely cards you can make with the kits.

    Congratulations to your very clever daughter, and as for not making a card way ahead of time like you do for work, you are human and things slip our minds all the time. You are not the first to buy a kit card, which is so much better than buying a completed card that's flat and boring. S o stop beating yourself up. X Ros

    Some easy 3D decoupage is usually my fall back when I run out of time for a card. We Stampers each have some secret (or not so secret) vice like this. But yes you do feel guilty - I know I have been there. A lovely card all the same and you did get to use some dies.

    Hi Julia, you must be very proud. This card may be from a kit but it is gorgeous. I love the colour scheme and the way you've matted and layered all the different panels. Love the ribbon with the black & silver slider too. Congrats to Kathryn!
