Bags, Boxes and Tags

Hi Bloggers.

I'm running a workshop in Milton Keynes. It's a Backgrounds Masterclass so lots of lovely background techniques to share with the ladies today.

Today, I thought I'd share a selection of additional Christmas items you may like to make.

First a gift bag -

I started by stamping the Justrite Snow Days Background Stamp onto Coconut White Card twice using Phill Martin CS Decadent Denim Colour Cloud applied using a Smoothie. I used these stamped backgrounds to cut the side panels out using the Spellbinders Favorably Simple Gift Box Die Set. The stamped background isn't quite long enough to get the whole box side in but I positioned it so that the bottom flaps were slightly off the stamping - this isn't seen unless you turn the bag upside down. I cut the inside flaps of the bag out of Coconut White Card.

I assembled the bag as per Becca Feeken's YouTube Video

I cut the small snowflake die from the Justrite Snowflake & Tags Die Set out of Coconut White Card. I added it to the flap of the gift bag and added a Blue Dazzler.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Christmas Mini Tags Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Decadent Denim Colour Cloud. I cut it out using a tag die from the Justrite Snowflake & Tags Die Set.

A little box -

I spread some CS Holly Sparkle Texture Paste through the Holly Background Mask onto Rich Green Card. Once dry, I cut the box top die from the Spellbinders Bracket Edge Box out of it and I cut the bottom die out of Rich Red Card. I used CS Dries Clear Glue to assemble the box.

I cut a die from the Justrite Multi-Step Poinsettia Dies out of Coconut White Card . I double embossed them using Clear Perfect Medium and CS Ruby Slippers Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder. I added some 5mm White Pearls to the centre of my flower.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Christmas Mini Tags Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Bright Gold Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using a tag die from the Justrite Snowflake & Tags Die Set. I edged the tag with CS Crimson Kiss Colour Cloud using a Smoothie.

A couple of tags -

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Inside and Outside Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Red Geranium Archival, I cut it out using Sue Wilson's Pierced Tag Dies. I cut the tiny circular reinforement die in the set out of Rich Red Card.

I stamped the smaller poinsettia from the Justrite Multi-Step Poinsettia Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card. I used Crimson Kiss Colour Cloud for the 1st 2 steps, then Red Geranium Archival for the 3rd step (veins) and Coffee Archival for the centre. I cut them out using Justrite Multi-Step Poinsettia Dies.

I assembled my flower and added it to my tag. I finished by adding some Red Two-Tone Ribbon.

For this slightly smaller tag cut using Sue's Pierced Tag Dies, I stamped santa and the sentiment from the Justrite Christmas Mini Tags Stamp Set using Red Geranium Archival. The 'To' is from the Justrite Inside and Outside Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set. I added some Bakers Twine to this one.

Another video I did for Creative Expressions has gone live on YouTube. This one is on Pixie Powders.

Easy two-fer

Hi Bloggers.

I have a two-fer for you today - very similar techniques but with different dies.

Here's the first one -

I made a card blank by folding a piece of Coconut White Card in half. I place the outer die from the Spellbinders Quatrafoil Panel Die Set with one of the long cutting edges outside of the fold and ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum. I then cut both dies together out of Duck Egg Blue Card and again out of Aqua Card. I kept the little fall away flowers from both cuts. For this card I used the Duck Egg Die Cut and the Aqua fall away flowers (the Aqua Die Cut and the Duck Egg Fall away flowers can be used on another card).

I popped a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet onto Coconut White Card can then cut the outer die only. I removed the other backing piece and added my Duck Egg Die Cut. I popped all my Aqua fall away flowers in place and then rubbed CS Diamond Sprinkles all over the remaining gaps.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Bold Flourish Wedding Stationery Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Silver Shine Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Decorative Swallowtail Tags.

I added my card front to the back of my card blank (this means that the real back of my card looks nice and clean rather than having marks from my plates on it).

Here's the second card -

For this one, I created my card blank in the same way as before but this time used the outer die from the Spellbinder Swirl Stripe Panel Die Set. I cut the 2 dies together out of Coconut White Card.

I misted a piece of Coconut White Card with CS Rich Gold Mister. Once dry, I cut the outer die from it and glued my decorative panel on top.

I stamped the sentiment from the Crearive Expressions Bold Flourish Wedding Stationery Set onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Olympic Gold Lustre Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Decorative Swallowtail Tags and trimmed off the decorative section of it. I added a White Craft Consortium Resin Flower.

Easy peasy, teeny cards. Change the sentiment to suit any occasion.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pixie Pinwheel Daisies

Hi Bloggers.

I'm spending the day with a friend prepping for my Mixed Media workshop that I've scheduled for Sunday 14th August so I'm afraid I won't be able to do a post run, sorry. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow.

I managed to order John Lockwood's new stamps yesterday. I've loaded the stock onto my website should any of you wish to order them. I expect they'll arrive tomorrow or Friday and I'll aim to send them out as soon as I can. I've put a 10% discount on them till midnight on Friday night or while stocks last. The easiest place to find them is here.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Creative Expressions Provencal Lace Embossing Folder.

I misted a piece of Watercolour Card with water and sprinkled some Plum Twist and Candy Pink CS Pixie Powders over. Once dry, I dusted it with an Anti-Static Bag and then stamped the image from the Justrite Pinwheel Daisies Stamp Set using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Black Detail Embossing Powder. I popped a little of the 2 powders into separate sections in a Mixing Palette, added little water and then painted the flowers using a Water Brush. I added a little White Pearl Mixer to the Candy Pink section the lighten the colour and used to paint in the centres of the flowers.

I cut it out using Spellbinders Regal Allure. I cut the largest die in the set out of Black Card.

I cut the embellishment die in the set out of Black Card twice. I covered them with Flake & Glitter Glue using the CS Flake & Glitter Glue Highlighter. I then sprinkled CS Sparkle Star Diamond Frost all over.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearl Corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Lisa Horton is launching a One Day Special on Hochanda this evening at 8pm. I'm offering 10% discount on products that I have in stock on my website from the shows. You can find them here. Offer applies till midnight tomorrow night.

 Thanks for stopping by.

Love

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Creative Expressions Eternal Ivy Embossing Folder. I then misted the background with CS Pearl Mist.

I cut the inner die only from the Spellbinders Swirl Stripe Panel out of Peach Card. I re-seated one half of the die back into the die cut and ran through the machine again to extend the design. I repeated this twice more. I added this to my embossed background. I cut a frame out of Coconut White Card using Sue Wilson's  Double Pierced Rectangles and Double Pierced Rectangles Set B. I added it to my backgrounds using 3d Foam.

I stamped the sentiment from the Heartfelt Creations Feathered Grass Flourish Stamp Set using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Silver Pearl Lustre Embossing Powder. I cut it out using the deboss die in the Spellbinders Ornamental Crest Die Set. I misted the deboss frame with CS Pearl Mist.

I tied a bow using Craft Consortium Ivory Satin Ribbon and added a Craft Consortium Small Circle Pearl Diamante.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Craft Consortium Pearls to the corners of the frame.

John Lockwood is launching a One Day Special on Hochanda this evening at 8pm with his Summers Child Collection. I'm offering 10% discount on products that I have in stock on my website from the shows. You can find them here. Offer applies till midnight tomorrow night. I haven't been able to order his new stamps yet. As soon as they're available and I've placed my order, I will add them to my website and let you know. To make up for the fact that I don't have his new stamps yet, I'm offering 10% discount on all of John's existing Clear and Foam Mounted Stamps till midnight tomorrow night. All discounts will be applied automatically at checkout.
