Hi Bloggers.
Well, I've recovered now from the weekend - just needed a good nights sleep and a bit of a lie in! I'm off on may travels again this afternoon - heading over to Prestatyn in North Wales for a demo at Doodleso tomorrow. Maybe I'll see some of you there?
Here's today's card -
For the background, I applied some Phill Martin CS Decadent Oak Sparkle Texture Paste through the Native Mask onto Milk Card and put aside to dry.
I made a frame out of Chestnut Card using Spellbinders 6 x 6 Matting Basics B.
I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Amazing Sentiments Clear Stamp Set onto Milk Card using Coffee Archival. I cut it out using Sue Wilson's Pierced Flags Die Set. I cut a larger die from the same set out of Chestnut Card.
I tied a knot in a piece of Ivory/Brown Striped Grosgrain and added it to the side of the frame.
I had to fight off putting flowers on this one! A good card for a man though as the glitter in the paste won't come off!
Now to the Giveaway -
I thought someone might like my bits from the Craft Clinic on Monday - otherwise they'll never get used! One or 2 other unused bits may also find their way into the bag!
If you think you can find them a good home, please leave a comment below and I'll draw a name out on Sunday sometime.
Tracey is taking bookings for a couple of my workshops at Creative Expressions HQ. The first is on Tuesday April 28th and it's a repeat of the projects we did on April 2nd which were a sell out.
Here's the projects -
There's a different workshop on Tuesday 12th May but the projects are top secret at the moment as they're using some new, new dies from Creative Expressions but Tracey has already started taking bookings!
Please ring Tracey on 01536 481778 or email her at tracey@creative-expressions.uk.com for more details on both dates. John Lockwood also has a workshop on May 7th that I'll be hindering at - ask Tracey for details on that one.
There has been a lot of interest in my Milton Keynes Workshops and I have been asked to share the details here on the main page of the blog again so here's the details of the next one
Saturday 16th May 2015 -
Please email me at juliawattscrafts@gmail.com for more details/
My workshops can always be viewed via the Workshops tab in the top menu of this blog (browse web version if on a mobile or tablet).
That's all for now - must get packing, again!
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

Ohh Julia, another striking card, I have never tried the textured paints yet or used a mask, but must purchase both products and as they say ( have a go ) This method can be used in so many colour combinations. Would love to see you in action at one of your demo's but unfortunately have a business that's hard to get away from:( Still I can hope. Thanks for all the views of your future demos they are all fabulous. Have a great day. Linda.
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia, So glad you are now feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your card today, as always, and I had to chuckle at your write-up about having to stop yourself putting flowers on it haha, that would have been me too.
Your samples here for your workshops are stunning and anyone attending will be lucky, lucky, lucky.
Safe journey to Prestatyn.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Lovely card - great for the men. Here's hoping I win the goodies!
ReplyDeleteLove Carol xx
Great card and can be adapted in lots of ways I bought a "Phill" kit on Sunday
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your pieces from Tool Shed because as I don't drive I can never get to any of your workshops (damn!) so to have them in my hands at least I'd be able to see what they should turn out like Have fun in Wales!
There's train stations within a short taxi ride from both Kettering and Milton Keynes workshop venues!

ReplyDeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteA really good card for a man - just leave off the bow. I always tend to do texture paste on the male cards I make!
Enjoyed your Craft Clinic too - learnt a few things ..... so would l love to win"the bits" to try out!!
Glad you have recovered from AP and C&C - you're going to be travelling all over the country in the next few months - busy bee!!
Take care,
Sheila x
Hello Julia, love the card, love all that you do, The craft clinic was fantastic I learnt a lot of things about inks because they can be confusing and which ones to use on different surfaces, I recorded the show so I can keep going back to it, need more of you on TV sorry but we do, because of the way you explain things we all understand anyway thank you, Crafty hugs Julie XXXX
ReplyDeleteGlad you have recovered and are off out and about. You are certainly an advert for work in crafting and see the country - though I doubt you actually see much of the towns you go to - demo-ing in store and going over hours! Take care and I will see if I can fit in a visit to one of your workshops in May (This month I am off to Scunthorpe for a class and June it is Stamp Magic at Doncaster, May is just a little quiet at the moment.
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy bee you are Julia! The projects you have lined up for the workshops look amazing, would love to be there but a tad too far from Northumberland! Love today's card, great for the men. Pat x
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I've seen you a few times on C&C. Just joined your blog so not quite up to speed with everything you do, all your workshops etc. Love today's card and will certainly keep following as you give so much inspiration with all your beautiful creations. Thanks for sharing - blessings, Deb C xx
ReplyDeleteHello Julia and all
ReplyDeleteLovely card. I'm not a huge fan of Brown but this is a great card. As you say it would be great for a man and would be good in other colours perhaps with a flower, well done for resisting the temptation. Thanks for sharing.
It is very kind of you to offer your homework, someone will be very lucky. The techniques you used where great, definitely ones to try.
Best wishes
Hi Julia
ReplyDeleteYes, a great card for a man. I recently purchased some texture paste in a couple of different colours. I have loads of masks to do this technique and I'd love to try the paper grouting.
Glad you had a day of rest, I hope you have a safe journey.
it's very kind kf you to offer up your 'bits' from Mondays show. I don't know how you manage to make each craft clinic you do better than the last. I have loads of new things to try and I thought I'd tried most things!
Hugs and hope tomorrow goes well,
T xxx
Great Craft clinic lots of new things for me to try while I am recovering from my knee op. Great day at Ally Pally as well. Must finish my card from the last workshop. Nx
ReplyDeleteJulia,
ReplyDeleteThese cards are so beautiful, you have some serious talent going on here. I would so love to come to a workshop, but I really am way too far, so I will have to just dream and drool from here. Do you offer any workshops online perhaps?
Thanks for sharing.
Lovely card, always find men's cards difficult.Your cards are always a real pleasure to look at,they give me ideas if only I could manage to make something similar. Thanks for the inspiration. Sue Balawajder
