Hi Bloggers.
Thanks for all your comments about the Craft Clinic yesterday - those 2 hours just flew by! I'm offering all the little demo bits from yesterday as a giveaway - not the pva or texture paste bits as they were still wet so I left them at the studio. So, if you'd like some homework, leave a comment and I'll draw the winner on Friday.
Today's card features a couple of techniques from the Craft Clinic yesterday.
For the main background, I spread some Clear Cosmic Shimmer Texture Paste through the More Squares Mask onto Chestnut Card and put aside to dry. Once dry, I rubbed Cast Bronze Gilding Wax over the surface.
I stamped Poppy onto Milk Card using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Ancient Copper Metallic Embossing Powder. I cut her out using Spellbinders Majestic Circles and inked through the die with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I stamped the sentiment from the Pawprints on Your Heart Clear Stamp Set, again using Perfect Medium and embossed with Ancient Copper Powder. I cut it out using a Justrite Antique Labels One Die and inked through the die with Vintage Photo.
I tied a bow using Brown Solid Satin Centre Band Ribbon and added a Vintage Metal Button.
I prepared the Paved Pearl Border separately using Cosmic Shimmer Ivory PVA and once dry added it to the rest of my card.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.
morning Julia.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all thank you for the brilliant show yesterday, now I can go to town on my micas. You were so funny with Dean If you don't glitter you have'nt been crafting. Todays card is lovely too. Take care Kitty.
Hi Julia, the show was super yesterday, you crammed so much inspiration into it. Loved watching you with Dean, you just bounce off each other. I packed up laughing when you shouted at him for shaking the PVA. I am sure whoever wins the homework will just love it. Todays card is lovely, especially the colours. Have a great day. Bx
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia and all crafters, I also watched the show yesterday and taped it as well, would love to have seen Deans shoes and trousers all glittered up, you both had me in stitches. It was also really nice to go over the techniques again as like many people I buy things and forget how to use them so it was very useful. I love this card today, adore the stamps and also would love to know where you et your ribbons from they are really beautiful. Good luck everyone.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Tuesday everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy and please be careful on any ice and snow out there. hugs June Smith xxx

ReplyDeleteHello Julia and all
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge fan of browns but this is nice it might be the white that lifts it. I really like the paved pearl technique. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI planned to watch live but alas I was interrupted! However I did watch the first hour last night as I had recorded both. Very entertaining but informative too. It is nice to spend more time on techniques . Cosmic Shimmer products are super. The Demonstator isn't half bad either!
Thanks Julia,
Love Myra
Good Morning Julia
ReplyDeleteWatched the show yesterday it was brilliant. We all buy goodies that we forget how to use, or the ideas pass us by. So thank you for the reminders.
You seemed to be having such a good laugh with Dean - it's not really work is it.
Once again many thanks.
Crafty Regards.

ReplyDeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteAnother stunner today. I'll have to invest in these stamps I think. I totally missed the shows yesterday. So I'll have to watch them later on the laptop. I'd seen the post regarding the times you were on after I came home from school, so totally missed them.
Hi Julia. Lovely card, I do like the dots so thanks for showing us the technique yesterday. In fact I found the whole 2 hours very informative. Brilliant job. SueL x

DeleteI have just bought this stamp - I hope by omitting the butterfly it will look like a cat waving bye - bye - for a sorry you're leaving card for a cat mad colleague. What do you think? Sorry missed the show (was at work) - hope to catch it on catch up. Have just seen today the banner on Phill's Honey Pot website advertising the demo day on 1st Feb with his messy crafter and tidy crafter comments - cheeky monkey.
ReplyDeleteAwww love kitties
ReplyDeleteLoved the show yesterday. It is so easy to buy things, then the blonde/senior moment strikes, and I forget what to do with them. This was a great reminder, and looked like you were both having fun too.
ReplyDeleteCheers

Hi Julia
ReplyDeleteCute card. I know lots of cat lovers so maybe I should think about this stamp.
I'm so glad I watched craft clinic as I had never seen the clear texture paste used before and I'd see it online and think "why?" but it has such a lovely effect on the matt card. I'd imagine you can mix colour, glitter, mica or other pastes into it so it'd be a good value buy. Thank you for demonstrating that! Shame I didn't get to watch it properly til earlier tonight as I reckon they are all out of it! (will check after this though!)
