Mosaic Butterfly

Hi Bloggers.

You may have noticed that I have added the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show to the right hand side of my blog. The next show is on April 12th and 13th at Ally Pally. Sam and I will be demoing on the Creative Expressions Stand and, for the first time, the lovely Phill Martin will be joining us. Sue will be demoing on her Rubbernecker stand as usual. We have lots of new goodies that we launched at the Trade Show last month which we'll be demoing. Lots of retailers will be joining us showing off some fab products. We're in the Great Hall now so there's lots of room to wander round in. Oh, and there's gorgeous freshly made pizzas at one of the eateries - yum! Anyway, click on the logo to have a look at the details - there's £1 off tickets booked before 8th April.

Talking of Phill, he has his first shows on Create & Craft today with his own range of stamps and Creative Expressions goodies. Times are 9am with Dean and 4pm with Martyn.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I used the Shaving Foam Technique. There's a tutorial on Sue's Blog here on how to do this. Instead of re-inkers, I used Riviera Blue and Grape Crush Cosmic Shimmer Ink Spray Mists. I cut a piece down to size and popped it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Hepburn Embossing Folder, I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.

I stamped the Mosaic Butterfly using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Silver Shine Embossing Powder. I coloured it in using a little of the Riviera Blue and Grape Crush Ink Spray Mists. I cut it out using Spellbinders Decorative Labels 22 and inked through the die with Salty Ocean.

I stamped the sentiment that comes with the Earthenware Vase using Perfect Medium and embossed with Silver Shine Detail Powder. I cut it out using Justrite Vintage Labels 4 and inked through the die with Salty Ocean.

I tied a bow using Blue/White Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and added a Fancy Pearl Embellishment.

I assembled the card as shown adding a White 8mm Pearl to each corner and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Silver Lustre around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia

  2. Hello Julia, what a lovely card, love the colours, the shaving foam technique is great, and I have been doing it quite a lot lately (hubz couldn't understand what I needed so much shaving foam for! I need to get some re-inkers, as I love the colours, and don't have too many colours of the misters, however found with my attempts, that alcohol inks work quite well too. Bx
