Gilding Flakes and Double Embossing

Hi Bloggers.

I'm heading up to Creative Expressions HQ today to run a Stamping Workshop. Lots of practice for the ladies today.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I embossed a piece of Coconut White Card using the Creative Expressions 8 x 8 Twisting Holly Embossing Folder. I edged it with CS Crimson Kiss Colour Cloud applied using a Smoothie.

I popped some CS Flake & Glitter Glue onto a piece of Wax Paper. I picked it up onto a piece of Cut n Dry Foam and used it to ink up the Justrite Holly Stitched Background. I stamped it onto Coconut White Card leaving the stamp on the card no more than 3 seconds so as not to tear the card. I re'inked' the stamp and then stamped onto Rich Red Card. I cleaned my stamp under a cold tap and then went back to my stamped backgrounds. I added CS Inca Gold Gilding Flakes. I removed the excess using a piece of Rubit Scrubit. I cut the backgrounds in half and then in half again. I used 2 pieces of baground on red card and 2 pieces on white card. I matted the white onto red card and the red onto white card and added them to my background using Mounting Cushion.

I popped some more CS Flake & Glitter Glue onto a piece of Wax Paper. I picked it up onto my piece of Cut n Dry Foam and 'inked' up the image from the Justrite Large Oval Christmas Wishes Stamp Set. I stamped it onto Coconut White Card (3 second rule!).  I added CS Inca Gold Gilding Flakes and removed the excess using a piece of Rubit Scrubit.I cut it out using a die from the Justrite Joy Oval Frames Dies. I cut the largest die in the set out of Coconut White Card.

I cut 2 of the larger dies from the Justrite Hope Oval Frame Dies out of Coconut White Card. I double embossed the die cut using Clear Perfect Medium and CS Ruby Slippers Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder.

I cut a couple of flowers out of Coconut White Card using Justrite Multi-Step Poinsettia Dies. I double embossed them and added some 5mm White Pearls.

I cut some leaves out of Coconut White Card using Sue Wilson's Pine Twig Dies.

I assembled the card as shown adding some more 5mm White Pearls to the corners of the background and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Morning Julia and crafters all,
Lovely card, (just waiting for my twisted holly embossing folder to arrive with my foliage bundle from Sue's shows on Hochanda)
Then I can try and emulate this card.
Enjoy your day at CE headquarters, wished I lived nearer. We do not have a decent dedicated craft shop in Hull, the Range has the odd demonstrator in, (not in your calibur though)
    Love and crafty hugs
