Hi Bloggers.
I'm demoing at SET in Haverford West today 10 till 4. This is a ticketed event so you'll need to contact the shop to see if there's any spaces available.
Don't forget that all my demo and workshop dates are in the left hand sidebar of this blog. Remember there's just one of me and lots of you so I can't be in everyone's home town. It's pretty exhausting travelling around all over the country.
Here's today's card - how's this for a different weave?
I cut Sue Wilson's Striped Weaving Die out of Sky Blue Card once and Milk Card twice. I cut the Milk Die Cut into pairs of strips. I left the Sky Blue one intact but cut up to the strips on the right hand side leaving them in wide apart pairs as opposed to close pairs like I did with the Milk one. Hope that makes sense - I'll demo this today at SET. Then just in and out, then out and in with the Milk pairs through the Sky Blue pairs. As this is quite an open weave, I embossed a piece of Milk Card with the Creative Expressions Bed of Roses Embossing Folder and popped it behind the woven piece.
I cut out a frame using Sue's Classic Adorned Square Noble Die Set. I popped some 3d Foam Tape on the back and added it to my woven background. I trimmed away the excess and then glued it do a piece of Milk Card which had been cut using the largest die in Sue's Ornate Pierced Square Noble Die Set.
I cut the Couture Creations Thanks Die out of Milk Card and added it to a piece of Sky Blue Card which had been cut using the largest die in Sue's Pierced Flags Die Set.
I cut 3 sizes of Sue's Perfect Peony Complete Petals out of Milk Card and the corresponding dies in Sue's Perfect Peony Open Petals out of Sky Blue card and stacked them up.
I cut a couple of leaves out of Milk Card using Sue's Delicate Fronds Die Set.
I assembled the card as shown adding some Cream 8mm Pearls and piercing around the edges.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

Hi Julia
ReplyDeleteWhen I bought the strip dies the man in the shop thought I was mad! He didn't see the way they worked ( he's not a crafter!) but I assured him they were worth it. I love using them and your card shows them off ay their best - it's lovely.

Hi Julia, you have amazed me with yet another different weave on this gorgous card. I'm astounded by the number of different combinations. Love the colours and the flower & foliage are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on your schedule, I hadn't spotted it, doh! lol! Yes you do get about! Preston is about the closest but on hols in Aug, Poynton might be possible or Leeds for demo days. Would've really loved to come to a workshop where I can get hands on crafting but there are none remotely near, ah well. Thanks for all your online inspiration and keep safe on the roads.
Blessings - love Deb C xx

Hello Julia and all.
ReplyDeleteYet another great card using the weaving die they seem limitless. Lovely colour and I love your Peony. Thanks for sharing.
Have fun at SET.
Best wishes.
Hi Julia, I love this design and the colour is perfect too. The Noble dies are without a doubt my favourite dies. I hope you enjoy your time in H W. I can't think of a more difficult drive in the UK , but if the sun shines it should be very enjoyable. X Ros
ReplyDeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card, those colours are so pretty. I used that noble die last week and letter pressed the knotwork. It's probably my favourite die because of the knotwork (I have a tattoo of celtic knotwork in a band on my arm!)
I received my die in the post yesterday, thank you ever so much :-) I can't wait until I get to play with it!
Hugs,
T x
