Save the last Waltz for me

Hi Bloggers.

I'm doing the first set of Christmas Workshops at Creative Expressions HQ in Kettering today. I know some of you will be there so see you soon! There's still a couple of spaces left on the 2nd day (next Wednesday) - please see the left hand side bar of this blog for details.

Over the weekend I popped some more card sample packs on ebay and a whole bunch of stamps. Please click on the ebay link in the top menu of this blog to go and have a look. This time I'm raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust with the proceeds of the card samples.

John Lockwood has a couple of last minute shows on Create & Craft today - on his own this time. He's on at 10am and 3pm. Hope you can tune in.

Here's today's card -

For the background, with the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamp Phill Martin's Vintage Sheet Music Background onto Milk Card using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. I repeated the process with Phill Martin's Vintage Script Background and Iced Spruce Distress Ink. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Buttons Galore Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Peacock Feathers. I rubbed Patina Gilding Wax over the embossed design and left to dry for a few minutes. Once dry, I buffed it up using a dry wet wipe.

I stamped the American Smooth Stamp using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Lapis Black Aurora Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A and inked through the die with Peacock Feathers. I cut a Spellbinders Pearl Effects out of Teal Card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Step by Step Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with Lapis Black Aurora. I cut it out using Spellbinders Classic Squares Large and inked through the die with Peacock Feathers. I cut a Spellbinders Eyelet Squares out of Teal Card.

I made a flower out of White Crochet Ribbon and cut a couple of leaves out of Teal Card using Sue Wilson's Petite Vinery Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown adding a Small Circle Dazzler to each corner and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Cosmic Pearl around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  4. Morning Julia and all crafters, another gorgeous card today, love the colour combinations - the waltz has always been my favourite and brings back many happy memories of dancing with my Dad who was really a wonderful dancer, and with 5 daughters and my Mum he didn't get much chance to sit down.

Will be watching John, I know he will do well and am looking forward to it.

Have a great Tuesday everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs June Smith xxx
