One Day Special Shows continue on Hochanda today

Hi Bloggers.

One Day Special Shows continue on Hochanda today at 9am, 12noon, 4pm and 7pm. Hope you can join me. I will try to show as many weaves as I can throughout the day.

Here's today's card -

There's a lovely pastel pack of card on the shows. As well as playing with different weaves, different colour combinations give different effects too.

So, for the weave on this one, I started by cutting Sue Wilson's Striped Weaving Die once out of Aqua, Lilac, Custard and Sky Blue Card. I glued the Custard one to the Sky Blue one, offsetting it to fill in the gaps. I glued the Lilac one to the Aqua one, again offsetting it to fill in the gaps. The resulting die cuts then have 2 Lilac then 2 Aqua then 2 Lilac then 2 Aqua and so on and the other has 2 Custard, 2 Sky Blue, 2 Custard, 2 Sky Blue and so on. For this weave, I kept them all in the order they were lying.

I used the Custard/Sky Blue one as the base. I wove 2 strips from the Aqua/Lilac one through it - under 2, over 2, under 2, over 2 and so on to the end. Keeping the strips in order, I wove the next 2 Lilac/Aqua Strips over 2, under 2, over 2, under 2 and so on till the end. I repeated these 2 rows until the whole piece was completely woven.

I made a frame out of Aqua Card using dies #2 and #5 from Sue's Scalloped Lattice Frames Set B. I cut a thinners frame out of Custard Card using dies #2 and #3 from the same set and glued the 2 frames together. I added the frame to my woven background using 3D Foam Tape and trimmed away the excess. I matted onto Lilac and then Sky Blue Card.

I cut dies from Sue's Happy Birthday Circle Die Set out of the same 4 colours of card as shown.

I cut Sue's Star Flower Cluster Die Set out of Lilac, Sky Blue and Custard Card and added 5mm White Pearls to the centre of the flowers.

I completed my card by adding an 8mm White Pearl to each corner of the frame.

I'm offering 10% discount on items I have in stock on my website from the shows (more stock added, due in Monday/Tuesday). You can find them here. Offer valid till midnight tonight or While Stocks Last. Discount will be applied at checkout.

Before I sign off, can I ask if you're reading this by email, could you please visit my blog. Rating have gone down for all of us and we need your views. Receiving the email each day doesn't count. I know everyone is busy and you don't always have time but we just need you to view the blogs each day, you don't need to comment. It would really help. Hope you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for stopping by.

  15. Good Morning Julia, I cannot believe that you managed to create such a stunning card from just paper and it certainly looks as if you had quite a time sorting out exactly the combination of strips to weave and I look oh so much to seeing how you created that particular one. A stunning show to last night. hugs Shirleyxxxx
