Merry Christmas

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

I made one of my messy backgrounds on this one. I spritzed a little Phill Martin Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Mink Ink Spray Mist onto a piece of Cut n Dry Foam to make an ink pad. Then, with the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamped a section of the Creative Expressions Florentine Background all over a piece of Coconut White Card. I spritzed a little more Ink Spray Mist onto my Craft Sheet and mixed in a little Phill Martin CS Frosty Mink Mica Powder. I added this to my ink pad. With the stamp in my hand and using my mica ink pad, I randomly stamped Phill's Christmas Holly Background. I ran the piece through the Grand Calibur with the Creative Expressions Swirling Holly Embossing Folder. I used my mica ink pad to ink around the edges.

I stamped Phill's Decorative Frame : Holly onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed using Phill's CS Frosty Mink Embossing Powder. I stamped the sentiment from Phill's Insert Frame : Merry Christmas again using Clear Perfect Medium and added Frosty Mink Powder. I have cut away the excess rubber from the inside of the frame so that I can see through it to stamp it around the sentiment which I did again using Clear Perfect Medium. I added Frosty Mink Powder and embossed the lot.

I cut both the frames out using scissors. I edged them both with Phill's CS Frosty Mink PVA and added CS Glacier Ice Glitter Jewels.

I stamped the Creative Expressions Shaded Poinsettia in a few sizes onto Coconut White Card using both Phill Martin CS Frosty Mink and Decadent Oak Colour Cloud Blending Ink applied using a Smoothie. I cut them out using the corresponding dies in Sue Wilson's Classic Poinsettia Die Set. I shaped them the 'John Way' and added some White Pearls and a Brad to the centres.

I cut a couple of Sue's Holly Sprays out of Coconut White Card and added Phill's Frosty Mink Gilding Wax. I added some PM CS Frosty Mink PVA to the berries.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearl Corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.
Thanks for stopping by.

  5. A beautiful card, Julia. Both the background and floral element are lovely. I made several poinsettias like this yesterday having watched John at the NEC and know they take time to do, but the result is worth it.
