Elegant Cross Card for a Christening

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Creative Expressions Floral Stripes Embossing Folder. I added CS Enchanted Gold Gilding Polish to it, matted onto Gold Mirror Card and popped onto a Coconut White Card blank.

I cut die #4 from Sue Wilson's Indonesian Background die set out of Gold Mirror Card and dies #3 and #4 together out of Coconut White Card. I glued the 2 die cuts together using CS Glue in a Woodware Fine Tipe Glue Applicator, dabbing off any excess glue with Kitchen Roll before putting them together.

I cut one of the frames from Sue's Indonesian Mini Frames Die Set - cutting the outer die on it's own once and the 2 dies together once. I glued the 2 die cuts together and added them to my Background Die piece.

I cut one of the crosses from Sue's Elegant Cross Die Set out of Gold Mirror Card and added a Craft Consortium Pearl to the centre.

I cut Sue's Christening Day Die out of Gold Mirror Card and added it to the bottom of my card.

I completed my card by adding a Pearl to each corner.

Thank You

Hi Bloggers.

Today's card was a variation of one that Sue Wilson made. I had slightly different dies on the One Day Special shows so I remade it so I could demo it and didn't really manage to demo much of it after all!

For the background, I embossed a piece of Coconut White Card using the Creative Expressions Dotted Daisies Embossing Folder - my piece of card just fitted perfectly. I matted onto Custard Card, Pastel Green Card and another piece of Coconut White.

I cut Sue's Hobnail Vase out of Coconut White Card 3 times. I trimmed the top third off one and on another I removed the feet and cut two thirds off it. I added CS Pearl Lustre Gilding Polish to all 3 vases.

I cut the 2 dies with flowers on them from Sue's Lily of the Valley Die Set out of Pastel Green Card 4 times and out of Coconut White Card twice. I removed the flowers from 2 of the Pastel Green die cuts as I wanted just the foliage from these. I removed the flower buds from the White die cuts a few at a time and glued them to the 2 remaining complete Pastel Green Die Cuts. I arranged these on my card with the tallest vase added on top with several layers of CE Mounting Cushion.

I cut the Daffodils from Sue's Spring Daffodils Die Set out of Rich Green and out of Custard Card. I cut the heads off the Custard ones and glued them to the Green ones. I cut 3 trumpet pieces out, shaped them and added them to my flowers. I arranged them on my card inside the middle sized vase which I added with layers of Mounting Cushion. I also added a little more foliage by cutting the dies once more.

For the little vase, I cut the small foliage dies from the Lily of the Valley Die Set several times out of Pastel Green and Rich Green Card.

I stamped my sentiment from the Creative Expressions Petite Lavish Sentiments onto Coconut White Card using Watering Can Archival. I cut it out using one of the pair of dies from Sue's Indonesian Collection Mini Frames Die Set. I cut the outer die out of Custard Card and glued the the 2 pieces together, adding my sentiment with a piece of Mounting Cushion.

I completed my card by adding a 5mm White Pearl to each corner.

Vintage Perfume Bottle

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

Sorry about the photo, Mirror Card is really hard to photograph - I had a blue top on that day - lol!

I started by cutting die #7 from Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Squares Set B out of Gold Mirror Card. I removed the card from the die and added die #5 from Sue's Indonesian Background Die Set. I cut die #7 from the Double Pierced Squares Set B out of Midnight Blue Pearl Card and glued the 2 dies cuts together. I put aside so that the glue would dry.

Meanwhile, I cut both dies from Sue's Rose Spray Corners Die Set out of Midnight Blue Pearl Card twice. I added CS Enchanted Gold Gilding Polish to them. I added them to a piece of Coconut White Card. I matted onto Gold Mirror Card, Midnight Blue Pearl Card and another piece of Coconut White Card.

Going back to my Indonesian Background, I added die #4 from the set and cut to create the open centre of the frame.

I embossed a piece of Coconut White Card using the CE Dotted Daisies Embossing Folder. I added Enchanted Gold Gilding Polish to the embossed card. I added 2mm Foam Tape to my frame and popped on top of my embossed and gilded card. I glued this to my background.

I selected one of the designs from Sue's Vintage Perfume Bottles Die Set. I cut the outside die only out of Midnight Blue Pearl Card and both dies out of Gold Mirror Card. I glued both die cuts together and added them inside my frame using Foam Tape.

Jane Gill is on Hochanda today with part one of her Woodware Christmas 2017 stamps. She has shows at 11am, 3pm and 7pm. I hope you can tune in - I will be watching. Sunday Sneak Peek

Hi Bloggers.

I have another sneak peek for you today from tomorrow's One Day Special on Hochanda launching at 6pm.

I started by popping a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet onto a piece of Coconut White Card. I removed the other piece of backing sheet and added CS Sunlight Speckle Gilding Flakes. I spread the flakes around the adhesive and removed the excess using a piece of Rubit Scrubit.

I cut the outer dies only from Sue Wilson's Vintage Perfume Bottles Die Set out of my Gilded Card. I dusted the remaining card with an Anti-Static Bag and cut Sue's Rose Spray Corners out twice (making 4 corners cut in total). This is a de-boss detailed die and adding the Anti-Static Bag makes it easier to release the Gilded Card from the die.

I cut Sue's Vintage Perfume Bottles out of Coconut White Card in their die pairs and glued them to their respective Gilded pieces.

For my background, I embossed a piece of Coconut White Card with the Creative Expressions Dotted Daisies PinPoint Embossing Folder and added CS Enchanted Gold Gilding Polish.

I matted onto another piece of Coconut White Card, then Silver Mirror Card and then another piece of Coconut White Card. I added CS Glue around the edges of my background and then sprinfkled CS Iced Crystals Glitter Jewels over.

Thanks for stopping by.

You're the Best

Hi Bloggers.

Thank you for your kind wishes for my Mom. My Dad fetched her home yesterday. She's much better than I expected and the doctors are hopeful that she'll be back to normal in a few weeks.

I spent yesterday catching up with all the website orders and all outstanding orders will be posted this morning.

Here's today's card -

I started by spreading some CS Phill Martin Chic Magenta Sparkle Texture Paste through the Spirelli Mask onto Black Gloss Card. I put it aside to dry (approx 2 hours). I cut a frame out of Black Card using Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Circles. I added to my STP background, once dry, using 3D Foam, trimming away the excess using scissors.

I embossed a piece of Coconut White using the Creative Expressions Jacobean Floral Embossing Folder. and added some White Pearl Corners.

I stamped the sentiment from Phill Martin's Butterfly Elegance Sentiments onto Coconut White Card using Jet Black Archival. I cut it out using Sue's Madeleine Die Set. I used the same die set to cut a black mat and a decorative white mat.

I covered a piece of Coconut White Card with CS Dark Cherry Gilding Polish. I cut solid flowers from it using Sue's Striped Nasturtium Die Set. I cut the open flowers from the set out of Black Card. I glued the flowers together in the centres only and added an 8mm White Pearl to the centres. I cut some leaves out of Coconut White Card using Sue's Olive Branch Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

John Lockwood is launching a One Day Special on Hochanda this evening at 8pm with some more Sue Wilson Dies from the September release. I'm offering 10% discount on items I have on my website from the shows. You can find them here. Discount applies till midnight tomorrow night or while stocks last. Pastel Gilding Polishes & Pixie Powders

Hi Bloggers.

I had a fab day at Domino Crafts yesterday. They have seriously twisted my arm and I have arranged to go back for another demo day just before Christmas on December 10th - mainly so I can see Steve's Christmas window display!

I have a couple of MDF pieces to share with you today that I made yesterday - I made a couple of errors on them and we can learn from our mistakes, right?

I started my covering an MDF Heart with 2 coats of Heather CS Metallic Gilding Polish (I dried the first coat with my heat tool before adding the second - you can wait a couple of minutes at hime for it to dry but in a demo situation, speed is the key!).

Then using a Smoothie, I 'inked' through the Triangular Mask with Powder Blue CS Metallic Gilding Polish.

At this point, I should have made sure it was 100% dry and dusted over with an Anti-Static Bag but I forgot.

I added the Flower Bed Mask and spread some CS Clear Texture Paste through. I removed the mask and added White Gold CS Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder. The embossing powder should only have stuck to the texture paste but when I tried to tap off the excess, the powder stuck to the gilded area too. As it happens, I don't think it looks terrible but it'n not what I was aiming for.

I heat set the embossing powder and the texture paste bubbled up underneath and made little crackling noises as it did.

I stamped the sentiment from the Mystic Garden Stamp Set from Hot off the Press using Jet Black Archival.

I added some Heather & Powder Blue Gilding Polishes to a piece of Coconut White Card. Once dry, I cut both dies from Sue Wilson's Heart Spray out of the Heather piece and some flowers out of the Powder Blue piece using Sue's Exquisiste Poppy Die Set and inked through the die with Jet Black Archival (you could also use Midnight Clouds Colour Cloud or Black Soot Distress Ink but I did not have those with me). I cut the centres of the flowers out of Black Card.

So, not bad but would have been better if I have used an Anti-Static Bag!

Here's another -

I used an MDF Oval. I painted it with CS White Gesso.  I dried it with my heat tool. I popped a little CS Warm White Chalk Paint onto my Craft Sheet. I added just a little Plum Twist CS Pixie Powder and mixed thoroughly. You lose the mica element when you add the Pixie Powder to the Chalk Paint as the Chalk is dominant. I used this to paint my Oval.

I popped a little Purple Violet Pixie Powder into a Mister Bottle filled with water and gave it a mix. I popped the All Stirred Up Mask on top of my Oval and then misted with my Purple Violet Mister. I dried it with my Heat Tool.

I stamped one of Lisa Horton's stamps from her Wild Flowers Stamp Set using Jet Black Achival.

I popped some CS Multi-Tex Powder onto my Craft Sheet added a little water and a little Candy Pink CS Pixie Powder and mixed thoroughly. When driving back home, I remembered that I should have also added a little CS Dries Clear Glue to the mix to make it flexible. It does say on the pot but thought I should really mention it here for the ladies who were at the demo yesterday. I spread the paste through a section of the Spirelli Mask. I dried it with my heat tool. Multi-Tex dries really well when heated and does not bubble like Texture Paste does when heated.

I hope you've found this information on what I should have done but didn't useful?

Just a reminder that there's 10% discount on the items I have in stock from Sue Wilson's shows this week. You can find them here. Offer applies till midnight tonight. Discount is applied at checkout. You can still watch Sue's shows on catchup on www.hochanda.com for up to 2 weeks after the shows were aired. There may also be some repeated at other times too.

Thanks for stopping by.
