Hi Bloggers.
Wow! You.ve done it again! Most of the stamps to go with Sue's dies have sold out. I will be ordering some more tomorrow morning. There are a few left - dies and stamps here.
This isn't one of my favourite cards but it does contain a nice technique.
For the background, I simply ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Endless Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design. I added some Black Soot Distress Stickles around the edges and put it aside to dry.
I brushed some Enchanted Gold and some Golden Pear from the Cosmic Shimmer Garden Tones Watercolour Set onto the Delicate Daffodil. I lightly spritzed it with water and stamped it onto Black Card. I cut it out using Spellbinders Nobel Rectangles. You can get another one or two impressions from this, spritzing lightly in between each one.
I stamped the sentiment from the Single Sentiments using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Gold Detail Powder. I cut it out using another Nobel Rectangle die.
I tied a bow using Black Crochet Ribbon and added a Crystal Sparkler.
I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Golden Pearl Pearlescent PVA around the edges.
Don't forget that Sue is on the Toolshed today on Create & Craft 12noon till 2pm. She has some gorgeous new Justrite stamps - don't miss it!
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI think I agree with you in that it's not one of my favourites from you either! However we all like different colours and styles. I do however love the technique used for the daffodil stamp - very effective and yet not really time consuming. We learn every day! I know I bought a couple of things so guilty as charged!!
No sunshine today!
Love Myra

ReplyDeleteHi Julia. Must admit it´s not a favourite of mine but as has been said everyone likes different things.

Hi Julia
ReplyDeleteLove the technique you have used on this card. The daffodil is lovely. This card is just a bit to dark for me. It probably looks much better in the flesh so to speak.
You may not particularly like this card but as someone has already said we all have different tastes I like it Anything in monochrome is a fav in my book
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, love the technique with the daffodil stamp but its a bit dark for me.
ReplyDeleteHello Julia, I love this dramatic card, the daffodil is gorgeous, will be giving this technique a try, those watercolour sets are fab, I bought a couple when you were on C&C a while ago. So happy for you that Sue's stamps are flying out, I bought a die yesterday, sadly could not afford more as I had a new boiler fitted on Thursday and am juggling the pennies.
ReplyDeleteWill be watching Sue's show.
Take care.
Hugs June xxx
Afternoon Julia
ReplyDeleteMight not be a favourite of yours but I like it - it is dramatic - love the techniques with the watercolours the daffs look great.

I'm not too sure about this card but love the daffodils xx hazel
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, todays card is dramatic yes but also quite lovely. You are quite a harsh critic about your own work but we love what you do. i ordered some stamps yesterday so will try to wait patiently for their arrival. Cant wait to see if you manage to get the bow stamps and the new embossing folders in stock.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I love this card, I find that there is a good balance of light and dark on the card, I love the fabulous daffodil stamp (I'm still in raptures from the background you did with this fab stamp),and the technique you have used with the watercolour set straight onto the stamp sounds great, I will have to try this technique. I love the card !!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that Sue's dies and stamps are going so well, I'm really wanting to see what the bow stamp is like, hopefully you will have it soon !!
Sue's Toolshed show was brilliant, 2 hours of great tips and techniques, especially the 'out of the box' and 'inside the box' cutting techniques.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
