Love You

Hi Bloggers.

I'm expecting a mixed reaction to this card. I'm not really keen on it myself but I wanted to use the A4 Ripple Scallop Mask, the Red Pepper Adirondack and Gold Embossing Powder. I think you could use this card for Valentine's Day or a Ruby Wedding Anniversary.

So, for the background, I inked up the A4 Ripple Scallop Mask with Perfect Medium, popped it down onto some Coconut White Card (which had been dusted with my Anti-Static Bag) and ran it through the Grand Calibur. The ink transferred to the debossed pattern. I added some Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold Metallic Embossing Powder and heat set it. I popped it through the Grand Calibur with the Spellbinders Elite M-Bossabilities Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern - the embossing powder does not crack. I then inked all over with Red Pepper Adirondack Dye Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I dusted another piece of card with my Anti-Static Bag and stamped the image from the Creative Expressions Floral Silhouette Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with the gold powder. I cut it out using a die from the Fancy Postage Edge die set and inked through the die with Red Pepper. I cut the largest die from the set out of gold card. I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Trees of Imagination Stamp Set again using Perfect Medium and embossed with the Gold Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 24 and inked through the die with Red Pepper.

l

I assembled the card as shown, wrapping some Lipstick Red American Seam Binding around the background and adding a bow.

I added some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Olympic Gold around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  4. Hi Julia, well I like the card, the background is amazing and the image is beautiful. You cannot please everyone. I usually like pastel shades but now and then a vibrant colour ticks my box.

  7. Morning Julia, At first glance, I thought the red pepper ink was a bit vibrant, but the more I looked, the more I thought YES, I really like it, the colours are very autumnal, but lovely and warm and spicy. The background, as always, is gorgeous, love what you have done with it, and, as usual, the stamping and embossing is gorgeous. I absolutely love it.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  10. Pretty design, just not keen on the Red Pepper colour, I have a brighter, more Christmassy red that I would use.

  11. You're right Julia, this would be lovely for either Valentines Day or a Ruby Wedding, although the background does look a bit orange and not a true red.
